About Us

Uptown Gifts is a woman-owned gift boutique on in Columbia, South Carolina.  The store opened in October, 2008 as the Main Street District was preparing to experience a renaissance.  New ownership took over in 2020 when the founder decided to retire amid Covid19 concerns.  The store moved from Main Street to the Historic Five Points District in May of 2024.  It now proudly shares Saluda Ave with other small shops and eating establishments.

The new Owner, Michelle Cormier brings over 20 years of retail experience to Uptown.  She owned a store in Massachusetts for 14 years as well as worked over 6 years as a manufacturer rep in the gift industry. 

We offer a carefully curated product selection to meet the needs of the diverse customer base.  Whether you are one of the many professionals working in the downtown, a visitor to our city, or a college student who enjoys shopping local, we welcome you to Uptown and know that we have the perfect gift for that special occasion. 

We are proud South Carolinians who love our local food producers.  We pride ourselves on our custom gift baskets, many featuring South Carolina Certified products. We are able to create customized gift baskets for all occasions.
